2019 Edition

The 2019 edition has witnessed a huge growth of the Festival. The launch took place within the Festa del Cinema di Roma, where the first press conference of Uno Sguardo Raro was held with the collaboration of Roma Lazio Film Commission. The list of partners has widened considerably, including, in addition to Il Volo di Pegaso, the historic competition held by the National Center for Rare Diseases of the National Health Institute (CNMR ISS), O.Ma. R, Osservatorio Malattie Rare, FERPI – Federazione Relazioni Pubbliche Italiane (Italian Communicators Federation), started getting in contact with Disorders – The Rare Disease Film Festival, of the United States of America. It also started a partnership with PA Social Association that works for Institutional Communicators, and HEYOKA Empath, the Facebook community of Disability Channel dedicated to a positive approach to disability.

On a cultural level, a partnership with Rome’s Public Library network (Biblioteche di Roma) started and, as a fundamental fact for the Festival, with the High School Institute Cine-TV Roberto Rossellini (Istituto Cine-TV Roberto Rossellini), which has created a solid connection with the young filmmakers of tomorrow. The number of artworks submitted was 800, representing 83 countries, and the quality level and coherence of the theme has risen substantially. The quality jury chaired by Gianmarco Tognazzi, a famous Italian actor, has once again seen the participation of important personalities such as the actress Irene Ferri, the researcher Domenica Taruscio, the Rai producer Fabrizio Zappi and the director Bruno Oliviero. Once again, the audience responded with enthusiasm and participation. BIOGEN, SHIRE, ROCHE, Itop and Associazione Risveglio supported the Festival with an unconditioned contribution.
